Fire hydrant testing and inspection
To ensure optimal performance in the event of an emergency, all fire hydrant systems must undergo thorough testing and inspection. In line with BS 9990:2015, it’s recommended:
- A visual inspection every 6 months – Checking for damage, obstruction, and visibility of hydrant markers.
- A full operational test annually – Including flow and pressure testing to confirm hydraulic performance, valve operation, and outlet integrity.
